Summer Missions

Excerpt from Shone Williams letter:

Moving to Edmonton from a small town has helped open my eyes to some of the issues present in an urban environment—ones that might not be as obvious to someone who has lived in the city their entire life. However, I know there is still so much I do not see. As a Christian though, I believe that I am called to see the world through Jesus’ eyes, and serve people as he did. This trip will provide opportunities to become more familiar with those who share this city with me. As a team, we will be coming alongside various organizations currently doing work on important issues such as Indigenous reconciliation and homelessness. I look forward to having my perspective further aligned with Jesus’ over the course of this trip, and I hope to come away from it more equipped to love my neighbours in Edmonton in my daily life.

Global Worker

Global Worker

Our church supports five couples working in Creative Access locations around the world, and this week we continue focusing prayer on one of those five: J & R and their family.

J & R have been "home" in Canada visiting family and supporters for the months of January thru March, and have just recently returned to their "home" in Central Asia.

Their prayer requests for this week are:

  • D is putting energy into getting settled in Florida. She’s had some car troubles and her car is back in the shop again this week. It’s necessary for her job so hopefully the problems will get resolved and she can have reliable wheels.
  • Business front: J & R have been able to buy some cattle even though they had to buy them at above market value; the buying power of their customers has dropped because of the economic downturn and most businesses are struggling.
  • annually there have been issues with their crop land (as foreigners), once again they are running into land department issues that are needing to be resolved before May 1st.
