On August 18th at 10am we will have a congregational meeting to approve the nominating committee. With the change of our fiscal year, and a flip of our two yearly meetings, this was missed at our May Business Meeting.

This meeting will take place between our two Sunday morning services. If you come to the 9am service plan to stay a few minutes longer, and if you come to the 10:45am service plan to come a bit early that Sunday. Adherents and members are welcome, only members can vote.

GLOBAL WORKERS

GLOBAL WORKERS

Skye Wilson

We are excited as a church to welcome Skye to Mount Olive’s official roster of Global Workers!  Skye (Wilson!!) is a Youth Engagement Worker and lead of the Three Hills Site with Central Alberta Youth Unlimited. Her role is to support and advocate for youth in Kneehill County, to mentor and disciple them, and to provide creative secure spaces that meet their needs that support the goal of introducing each youth to Christ.

Skye writes: "If there is one theme that has showed up for me lately it is God’s unbelievable and unwavering faithfulness. Over the last 10 months of fundraising, starting programs, mentoring youth, and building relationships with students and schools - the Lord has taught me to be patient and rely on his promise that he WILL be faithful, and over and over again he has come through - not always how I want, but always in the way we need. Most recently, I have seen his continued faithfulness as Dan and I got married. Leading up to, on our wedding day, and afterwards, we witnessed in such a tangible way the beautiful community the Lord has blessed us with as people gave, supported, served in order to make our day as special as it could possibly be. Since then we have been reminded daily that the Lord pays attention to the little things as we have seen him provide both bigger prayer requests like a place to live, and little joys like freshly baked bread delivered by a good friend. Now as we look forward to this new season of life - living in Three Hills and doing ministry together - we are blessed to have a God we can trust and a history of his faithfulness to us.

Prayer Requests

"Dan and I are both passionate about reaching our community, and excited about what the Lord will do in us and through us as we begin married life together. Please pray for us as we build our home together, navigate the wins and challenges of marriage, and learn to balance what it looks like to do ministry well as a team."

"As a part of our ministry dreams, the Three Hills Youth Unlimited team has been workingtowards opening a youth center. Because of funds raised for us at a couple of spring fundraisers, we now find ourselves able to look for a space to put it! We are so grateful for the provision of the Lord and the response of the community. Please pray as we are now looking into the purchase/rent of a building that the Lord would give wisdom to choose well.”
