CLINICAL COUNSELLOR
JOB DESCRIPTION
MTO Reach Counselling, a ministry of Mt Olive Evangelical Free Church, is seeking a passionate clinical counsellor with an understanding of trauma and attachment. We are looking for a person with a desire to continue learning and growing in their knowledge of therapy and holistic health.
MTO Reach is seeking someone who is compassionate and has a desire to see God heal those who are hurting. We are a financially accessible clinical counselling practice and offer reduced rates on a sliding scale to clients who need it.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of a master’s degree in counselling.
- Maintain own liability insurance.
- Registered with one of the following: CCPA / PACCP / CAP / CPCA.
- Trauma informed.
- Able and willing to sign the Mt Olive Statement of Faith.
- Experience counselling Youth (12-18years) an asset.
- Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector (less than 3 months old).
- Successful completion of an interview between MTO Reach and the therapist.
- Available for in person counselling with the option for online counselling with unsafe road conditions.
JOB EXPECTATIONS:
- Perform psychotherapy to promote emotional and mental wellbeing.
- Maintain confidentiality guidelines as agreed upon by MTO Reach and therapist.
- Maintain clinical records and documentation for all patient encounters.
- Be available 1 day (up to 5 clients per day) per week.
- The possibility of adding a second day if there are enough clients and if there is desire from both MTO Reach and the therapist.
- Join the counselling team for case consultations once a month.
- Maintain regular contact with a clinical supervisor.
- Able to perform duties with minimal administrative oversight.
OUR COMMITMENT:
- MTO Reach will provide a furnished office for client sessions.
- MTO Reach will be responsible for all promotion, booking, and administration fees for clients seen.
- MTO Reach will do its best to keep the therapist’s day booked with 5 client sessions.
